Simhachalam Temple stands on a hill near Visakhapatnam and is dedicated to Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha, a combined form of the Varaha and Narasimha avatars of Vishnu. The deity is covered with sandalwood paste throughout the year and uncovered only for a day. The temple is built in the Kalinga and Dravida styles and is known for its Chandanotsavam festival.
